New for 2013 : Search & Rescue Merit Badge
Join us for the fifth annual "Emergency Preparedness Weekend" hosted by Yawgoog Scout Reservation. This weekend is geared for scouts who need to earn either the First Aid or Emergency Preparedness merit badges.
Participants may come as individuals, patrols, or troops. Host troops will be designated at certain provisional campsites to accomodate all campers.
There are some prequisites to keep in minds. For both badges, all participants should be familiar with the subject material. Ownership or posession of the merit badge book is encouraged but not required.
For Emergency Preparedness merit badge, scouts should be familiar with all requirements and should have completed 1, 2c, 6c, and 8c. This means scouts should have earned First Aid merit badge already, discussed emergency planning with their family, be aware of who their local emergency agency and director is, and they should have with them an emergency preparedness kit that they have assembled.
There are no prerequisites for First Aid merit badge.
Participants will be camping near, and eating at, the Medicine Bow Dining Hall. Scouts should be prepared for fall weekend camping including a tent, as well as proper clothing and gear.
They should also be prepared for some classroom time, so include a notebook and writing supplies. Also, as is Yawgoog tradition, a Class A uniform is expected to be worn to dinner on Saturday and while we are at camp on Sunday. There will be an Interfaith service held Sunday morning.
The Hope Valley - Wyoming Fire District, and the Hope Valley Ambulance Squad are expected to visit us at this event. There should also be a special demonstration again this year.
The fee is $75.00 which includes food, t-shirt, and patch.
We expect that this program will fill up quickly so please register early. ON the next screen please enter the name(s) of the person who will be attending.
