The Merit Badge College will be happening as planned, even though we expect some winter weather
This afternoon the Merit Badge College Committee, Council Staff, The Office of the RIC President, and the RIC Grounds Crew & Facilities Department conducted a conference call to discuss the weather situation. Based on the latest forecasts, the capabilities of the Facilities Department and the impossibility of rescheduling the decision was made to move forward with the event.
The Facilities Department at RIC will have more than ample help on hand to keep the campus roads and parking lots, as well as the pedestrian walkways clear, passable, and as safe as can be expected with 3-6" of snow.
We ask that you allow extra travel time. Take it slow and be safe. Also, be sure your Scouts have appropriate footwear and clothing to walk between the dining hall and class buildings. Use common sense. Most of the snow will occur during the mid-day hours, after you have arrived and before you leave.
As the event is happening as planned, we will not be able to issue any storm-related refunds.
