Teambuilding Adventure Programs.
Each experience provides a series of physical, mental, and emotional challenges led by our staff facilitator. The program is composed of customized learning activities, group initiative games, trust-building activities, and low-challenge course elements. All activities involve group participation, some challenges will focus on individual and team skills.
These are non-traditional and non-competitive programs, our goal is to provide a positive outdoor experience that provides learning experiences. Participants will have reflection throughout their program facilitated by our staff, The reflection is meant to be a conversation in which the group can discuss successes and failures. Working towards ideas or understanding of the “why” behind the outcome of the activities. We are non-competitive. While we do have games where there are winners and losers, they are played as icebreakers and a way to bring up energy levels. We do not compare groups by any means. We are looking at how the group is performing through challenges, not for how many activities they can complete.
Challenge by choice: Our focus is our participant safety, while we ask every participant in the group we will not coerce or force them into something they do not want. Our staff will encourage participants to try something new and step out of their comfort zone but participants will always have the final say.
Adventure 1
Our Adventure 1 program is a 3-hour design for participants to work through a variety of challenges in our low-challenge course. Guided by our staff facilitators participants will be able to work on skills in a low-risk setting. Groups will participate in reflection, taking time to make personal connections. All activities will either be in the fields or on our low-challenge course. Some elements on our low course require lifting and being off of the ground no more than 7 feet. All participants will be taught spotting before any off-the-ground activities take place. This program consists of customized learning appropriate for anyone in 3rd grade and above. Available at both Adventure Base Camp and Camp Yawgoog. The starting cost is $25 per participant.
